Poul Nissen, PhD, is a Professor of Protein Biochemistry at Aarhus University, Director of the Danish node (DANDRITE) of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine, and Director of the Danish national cryo-EM resarch infrastructure (EMBION). He did his postdoctoral work on ribosomes with Nobel laureate Tom Steitz, and a PhD on elongation factor Tu and tRNA. He is an elected member of EMBO, the Royal Danish Academy of Science and Letters, and the Danish Academy for Technical Sciences.
