Development is an important component of our program; our focus is to provide training and other funding opportunities for the next generation of Parkinson’s disease researchers around the world. GP2 will offer these opportunities to the entire neurodegeneration community through the course of the program.

To meet the growing need for movement disorder specialists – neurologists with additional training in Parkinson’s and other movement disorders, this program funds academic medical centers worldwide to train new movement disorder clinician-researchers over a two year period. GP2-funded opportunity: Postdoctoral Researcher at DZNE
The deadline for this opportunity has passed.
DZNE is recruiting a GP2-funded Postdoctoral Researcher to co-lead the Monogenic Data Analysis working group and coordinate analyses. This is an excellent opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher with skills in the analysis and management of whole genome sequencing data and a background in human genetics. Find out more here.

GP2 is inviting applications for a PhD studentship: “Identifying genes for familial Parkinson’s disease”. The PhD will be based within the ASAP-GP2 Monogenic Disease Core at the DZNE Tübingen in Germany and supervised by Peter Heutink. Find out more here.
