Dr. Jose Bras is currently an Associate Professor in the Center for Neurodegenerative Science at the Van Andel Institute. He studied the genetics of Parkinson’s disease identifying the first common genetic risk factors for that disease as a graduate student with Dr. Andrew Singleton at NIH. More recently, he led work that showed that dementia with Lewy bodies has a related, but unique, genetic architecture when compared with other neurodegenerative diseases.
