Laura Volpicelli-Daley, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Neurology department at UAB. She earned her PhD in Neuroscience at Emory University where she studied membrane trafficking related to neuron dysfunction in Alzheimer’s Disease. She trained in the fundamentals of neuron cell biology in lab of Pietro De Camilli MD at Yale University, followed by neurodegenerative disease in the lab of Virginia M.-Y. Lee MBA, PhD and John Trojanowski MD, PhD at the University of Pennsylvania. She is course director of Graduate Neuroanatomy, and a first year MSTP course highlighting fundamental topics of biomedical research.
