Taylor Shaffer, MSc, is the project manager for Team Surmeier. Graduating from Loyola University Chicago with an academic interest in Neuroscience, Taylor went on to pursue a Master’s Degree at Harvard University. While in Cambridge Taylor worked at Boston Children’s Hospital as a clinical research assistant in the Department of Neurodegenerative Disorders assisting on clinical trials for SMA and DMD. She then went on to join the Football Players Health Study at Harvard University as an epidemiology research assistant where they aimed to understand how participating in professional football impacts long-term health. Taylor wrote her master’s thesis on the idea that professional American-style football players may act as human models for accelerated aging.\
