Claire joined Parkinson’s UK in 2008 and is now the Head of Research Communications and Engagement, leading the charity’s to inspire and support people to get connected, have their say and take part in the search for better treatments and a cure. Claire and her colleagues work alongside people with Parkinson’s, their partners, families and friends to ensure that their voices are heard in everything that they do. Her team produce a magazine, online blog, press releases, multimedia content and give talks to raise awareness of the progress being made in Parkinson’s research. Through the Take Part Hub the team provides a trusted and user-friendly source of opportunities to take part in studies and trials across the UK. And the team works to connect people affected by Parkinson’s with researchers and companies to ensure that research is shaped and driven by those who need it most Claire has a Masters in Molecular Biology from the University of Bath and a Masters in Science Communication from Australian National University.
