Neuro-Immune Interactions

Louis-Eric studied synaptic plasticity in the Aplysia invertebrate nervous system during his graduate training in Paris (Ladislav Tauc) and Montreal (Vincent Castellucci), following which he pursued postdoctoral training in Iowa with Philip Haydon, working on neurotransmitter release in rat hippocampal neurons. Since his recruitment in Montreal in 1997, he has made important discoveries about the functioning, connectivity and vulnerability of dopamine neurons.
