Global Parkinson's Genetics Program
The Global Parkinson’s Genetics Program (GP2) is an ambitious program to genotype over 250,000 volunteers worldwide to further understand the genetic architecture of Parkinson’s disease (PD).
Highlights
Since 2020, GP2 has united hundreds of member organizations around the globe to form a research community dedicated to rapidly addressing Parkinson’s research priorities. Explore a few highlights from this growing network:
GP2 Around the Globe
In support of the mission, GP2 partners with diverse cohorts worldwide. Data from these cohorts is openly shared through the Accelerating Medicines Partnership Parkinson’s Disease and Related Disorders (AMP® PDRD) program.

ASAP & GP2
GP2 is a flagship program of the Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s initiative. ASAP’s support of GP2 has enabled global collaboration and enhanced research capacity, allowing researchers to utilize state-of-the-art genetics methods to produce and analyze data at scale, quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
GP2 Outputs in the ASAP Catalog
GP2 has developed tools and research outputs that can be utilized by the scientific community to support research endeavors. To learn more about GP2 outputs, visit the ASAP Catalog, which lists the publicly available, ASAP-funded research outputs produced through the ASAP initiative.
